The Beginning: South Africa

My fascination with technology started early. In South Africa, I worked for an IT company during the exciting era when computers were just becoming mainstream—before every household had one. Building computers from scratch taught me how technology works at a fundamental level, and more importantly, how it can transform the way businesses operate.

That foundation gave me something invaluable: the ability to see technology not as magic, but as a practical tool for solving real business problems.

The Evolution: London

My career took me to London, where I worked across diverse industries—engineering, financial services, and more. While the industries were different, the pattern was always the same: businesses drowning in manual processes, disconnected tools, and administrative chaos.

I found myself naturally gravitating toward process improvement. I'd look at how teams were working and think, "There has to be a better way to do this." And there always was.

The Turning Point: Virtual Assistant to Automation Specialist

When family and career priorities collided, I made a bold decision: I started my own Virtual Assistant business. Working closely with small business owners on their day-to-day administrative tasks, I quickly realised something critical:

Most of the work they were paying me to do shouldn't exist at all.

I wasn't satisfied just doing the admin work—I wanted to eliminate it. So I started looking for automation solutions. That's when I discovered Zoho.

The Breakthrough Moment

One of my early clients had a task that took nearly 2 hours every single day. It involved copying data from emails into spreadsheets, then manually creating invoices in QuickBooks.

I built a simple Zoho Creator app connected to Make.com that:

Captured the email data automatically
Populated the database
Generated invoices in QuickBooks
Sent confirmation emails to clients

The result? That 2-hour task now took 15 minutes.

That's when I realized: This is what I'm meant to do.
